My mixed-media and installation work explores how language articulates connection and otherness. For me, connection conjures polarities such as belonging and otherness, the genuine and the fake, physicality and perception, the wondrous and the mundane. By mixing disparate parts for collage and wall arrangements I play with the metaphorical implications of these polarities. The work implies that there is an inherent fallibility and poetism in labeling to articulate difference. My work is an inquiry about how various ways of knowing intersect: intuition, intellect, and touch.
